Mura della Circla (sec. 13th)
Bolognaís period of greatest development came from the end of the 11th century to the 13th century. In the 12th century the city was protected by new boundary walls, called ìdei Torresottiî and in the 13th century, another circle of walls, called the Circla (Circle).
Today, few traces of Bolognaís walls remain. Some signs are still evident in the urban structure and the Gates from the 13th-14th century, which still mark the main in-roads to the city.
